Why Didn’t I Think Of That?

Psalm 6 starts out by saying:

O Lord, do not rebuke me in thine anger, nor chasten me in thy wrath. Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am pining away. Heal me, O Lord, for my bones are dismayed. And My soul is greatly dismayed; But thou, O Lord,–how long?

That was just the way I felt as I woke up this morning, only I didn’t call on the Lord to help me. Anyhow, my bones were dismayed and my soul was greatly dismayed!

Then, I looked out my window on this bright late September morning. The sun was shining just as it does in early fall. I can’t explain it, Probably God gives an extra shine to the leaves on the trees which have a little color on them now. The whole world seems to be brighter than my bones or soul.

My thoughts turned to parts of Psalm 8 which say:

O Lord, our Lord; How majestic is thy name in all the earth. When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and stars, which thou hast ordained.

Then, He talks about the Son of God, who, of course, is Jesus and says:

He rules over the works of God’s hands and puts all things under his feet, the sheep and all the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens and the fish of the sea.

Why didn’t I think of that when I woke up this morning? Why doesn’t everyone think of that when they wake up? Instead, we think of how bad the world has become and how divided our country is. God is still at work. If your bones and soul are a little out of kink, read Psalm 8:

O Lord, our Lord, How majestic is thy name in all the earth!

WHY DIDN’T I THINK OF THAT?

Sticks And Stones

James 3:5 says that ” the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes big boasts. consider that a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. the tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person.” Have you ever thought that your tongue can be more important than just eating?

My Pastor talked about the tongue in his sermon last Sunday. I knew about my evil tongue before his sermon, but I gave it a lot of thought anyhow. I thought about our beloved America and how tongues are spitting out evil these past months. We simple Americans don’t know what to believe as far as our government is concerned. Even our media doesn’t tell the truth much anymore, and lies keep popping up about our president, even though he has done many good things. Something good had better turn up in Washington DC or we will lose our constitution and our country will not be our country any more, all because of the words that are being spoken.

That old saying, “Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me,” is not true is it? Think about the words said to or about you, and you know how much it hurt you. you can’t change it either, The tongue has wagged and the words are out in the air. It’s sort of like the cloud. I’m not much of a tech person, but it boggles my  mind to know how much of our tongues, words or music, have somehow been stored up in the clouds!

All of us must be concerned if our words hurt others. The book of James, in the Bible, also tells us no man can tame the tongue either, and I guess that is true. the words have been said and that’s that! The words I have spoken to someone have been stored in the person’s heart, and cannot be erased. doesn’t that make you think and be careful what your tongue says?
