The Impeachment

I once heard a little boy and a  little girl arguing. the little boy wanted the marbles the little girl was holding in her hands.

The boy said, “But, they belong to boys, not to girls. Girls have to play with dolls and stuff like that. Gimme them marbles.” He said  that last sentence like he was going to get them or else.

“No, you can’t have them. My Daddy gave them to me, so there. ha ha,” she said. She sounded as if she was going to keep them or else.

I thought, should I get involved before things get out of hand? I didn’t have to worry though, The little girl’s mother just called her in. Thank Goodness!

I was reminded of that little scene as I sat, watching the TV the first day and night of the Impeachment. The Democrats wanted to take the Republicans’ president away from them. “He belongs to us,” they said in anger.

“No, you can’t have him, 60,000,000 people voted for him after all. that counts for something, don’t you think?”

The marbles was President Trump. Wouldn’t it be good if God was the mother who stopped the fight? These people seem to me like little girls and boys. Let’s pray that God will protect our country, and for Democrats and Republicans alike, that they will do what we all want them to do—-Make Our Country Great Again.

Smile, And The World Smiles With You

I imagine you have pushed outside, or put in a box, that Christmas tree that shone so beautifully during Christmas. I had four trees, two villages and lots of other things around our house. My two daughters, my son and two grandsons came to help me decorate. This was so wonderful! However, they were nowhere to be seen when it was time to take it all down. Of course I didn’t ask them either.

Why are we so different after Christmas? There are the sour faced people any time of the year who push you aside when you are either standing in a line or driving a car. I feel sorry for them. But I’m talking about you or me. Don’t we act different after Christmas? Before Christmas just walking down the sidewalk we smile and other people smile at us. Our happiness of the season shows. Christmas is coming and so we are smiling?   Even our insides feel better somehow. I guess they are smiling too! But the season ends and we evidently have put our smiles away with the tree and its ornaments.

Let’s go back. In at least one of those boxes we will find our smile. Next time you are out with other folks, smile, and you will find that most of them will smile back at you, even if you don’t know them. You will find you feel much better. It’s fun to be alive! Every season of the year is beautiful!
