We’ve Got Work To Do

Yes we do! And,  the trouble is, we really don’t know what to do. But God doesn’t want us to be like the little plant that will not bloom because it was planted in deep shade, but like the storm beaten oak trees or mountains that withstands the wildest of storms. He, though he watches over us and loves us with a love so strong we can’t understand it, sometimes has to take us into his testing room where we find ourselves now.

Why did he put all of us in his testing room now? We can see clearer when we are put in our homes, away from the clutter that has nearly destroyed America. It started decades ago when we said it was okay to murder our babies. Why didn’t we in the church stop this? We are the church you know. Now, some want to pass a bill enabling abortion to include babies who are ready to be born! Are we, the church, going to allow this?

Now, there are American men and women who are trying to change everything our   Constitution stands for, even to change the way we vote. Our men and women, down through the ages, have been fighting and dying for the freedom America offers. Are we going to allow this?

How about our children? They cannot pray in school. The Bible, instead of being God speaking to us, has become trash. Can the Church allow this? Yes, we have been .taken to the testing room. God has been waiting for us to stand up. Put on your praying shoes and go to work. We have waited too long. Wouldn’t it be great if all of us headed to Washington and let our requests be known. There are millions of folks that are called Christians. Let’s show them, just as soon as we are let out of His testing Room! Okay?

Fear !

Are you afraid? That awful disease is enough to put fear into every person. It sure did mine. I kept looking at television news and my tablet to find anything new, but all I found was Coronavirus. It is spreading everywhere! There isn’t anywhere to go to escape it. And I am one of those older folks people talked about. There aren’t many older then I! I am 93. Next, we were told to stay home. Some of you had to stay home alone, that’s tough. My granddaughter is doing that. Staying home is also causing a financial problem for so many of you. All in all, it’s awful!

Then, I picked up my Bible. So many of us have lived our lives knowing what Jesus has done for us and we have all heard God loves us. Still we have lived happily, not really caring much.  Don’t you know that now is the time to turn yourself over to God? Ask Him to forgive your forgetfulness and let Him handle it. He, after all, is much bigger than Coronavirus. Maybe He is allowing this to bring all of us together. We have been a divided country far too long.

Now is the time to read the 23rd Psalm that starts out: “The Lord is my shepherd.” Has He been your shepherd? He knows all about you and wants to be your shepherd. Just ask Him. He will take care of you.

The Bible is His love letter to you and Jeremiah 1:8 reads: “Do not be afraid for I am with you, declares the Lord” Psalm 56 says “When I am afraid I will trust in you. In God I will trust.”That’s you and me talking. And last, I will mention my favorite, Psalm 91: “I will not fear the tempest of night nor the  plague that disrupt at midday. A thousand may fall at my side but it will not come near me.” (I  have changed some of the pro- nouns, just for clarity) There are so many more verses telling us to trust Him. I have just given you partial verses which talk directly to you who are fearful,

Now is definitely the time for all of us to let God handle our fears. President Trump and Vice President Pence, I believe, are listening to God and will take us through this. don’t you agree?
