I Looked Into My Mirror

I looked into my mirror and what did I see? My hair looked okay and so did my face. After all, I’m in lockdown and who can see me? I see me, a failed woman staring back at me. I didn’t make many calls this week to people who are alone, sick or without work.  I haven’t prayed nearly enough for the families who have lost loved ones. I haven’t prayed at all for those who have lost their jobs. I have only prayed a little for those who are hungry or cold. That’s why I see a failed woman when I look into my mirror.

But God looks at me too, and what does he see? He sees a child of  His who doesn’t always do the very best thing, but His child anyway.   A child who has asked him to be His Father, believes Jesus died for my sins, and rose again on Easter to give me eternal life with Him in Heaven! He must have a stronger mirror than I. And am I glad!

What do you see when you look in your mirror?  Probably you see the same, a failed man or woman. I hope God sees you as His child. If not, why not change that right now! As for me, I’ll go make some phone calls. And when I’m done with that, I’ll go to my closet and pray.

What did You do On Easter?

It’s Easter Sunday and I can’t even go to Church, I thought when I awakened. I couldn’t go last year either because I was sick. That seemed different though because everyone else could go. I’ll celebrate  Easter Sunday anyway. I am well, and Jesus did rise from the dead. He forgave all my sins and offered me eternal life. What more could I ask?

So I got up and went to church in my pajamas. I turned on my tablet and up popped Pastor Ted! I heard the most wonderful Easter sermon ever! After his last Amen he had someone film some of my church families. They were stuck at home, like me, but in their yards, waving their arms high in the air, yelling:”He is risen, Halleluia!” So, I joined them. I must have looked goofy, waving my arms and yelling in my pajamas! But I didn’t care. After all, It was Easter Sunday.

There  is more to Easter than just a day, after all. It is the best day in the whole year! It isn’t  eggs and bunny rabbits. Jesus rose from the dead and because he suffered that terrible death on that Friday, he will forgive all of our sins and also give us eternal life! And just think, that’s all I have to do is believe. What a day Easter is.

That isn’t all I did on Easter either. My children were all here by an internet program. It was wonderful. we talked and laughed for about 40 minutes. I hadn’t seen any of them, even the ones living in my town, for a long time. I have complained about all the high tech stuff around these days in comparison to the good old days. But that was something else!

I hope you had a happy and blessed Easter Sunday too. He is risen. Halleluia!
