It’s So Good To Be Home

I have chosen you out of the world, so you don’t belong to it. John 15:19 (tlb)

Have you ever enjoyed staying at a hotel, cabin or even a tent for a few nights, and then you went home. You turned the key and stepped into your home. “Oh, it’s so good to be home!"You say out loud. And you really feel it. You were excited to begin that dream vacation, but it's great to be home again!

I know. I have felt it. I have lived in this house 62 years! That’s quite a record, don’t you think? But the house shows it’s 62 years. That’s okay, I show my 62 years too. First of all, I need to put in a new electrical system. I mean the house, not me. I need new legs, that’s almost as difficult as a new electrical system, wouldn’t you say? There is more that I could say about the house and me, but I’ll keep them to myself. after all that old house and me, we are entitled to keep some secrets.

Jesus said we won’t need a house if we are a believer. He said a mansion is being prepared for us once we have left this earth. Now won’t that be wonderful? I’ve never lived in a mansion, but it will be fun. And it also says in the Bible that our bodies will change at the twinkling of an eye. That means not only will I have a mansion but I’ll have new legs too. Isn’t that wonderful?

I have heard it said that as we get older, we yearn for our Heavenly home. I believe that is true. but It seems difficult for me to leave this old house. And I hate to leave my children, grandchildren, and my three great grandchildren. But the Bible also says I will be safe in the arms of Jesus and I can’t think of anything better than that, can you?

He Loves Us, Do We Love Him?

Today, we love our cars, potato chips, a new dress or anything else, but do we really love God? Let’s see—-

You were there, standing near your Hotel building. It was one cold day in December. Suddenly you hear something appears to be going on at that barn over there. There must be a program put on for all of us who came to Bethlehem for the tax stuff. Oh, I see many angels with beautiful dresses, but where did they get all those lights? There is even a lighted star above the barn.I noticed people heading over there. I’d better go too. Wait a minute! Some of those dirty shepherds are hurrying over there too. Why. on earth are they even in town? As soon asthey came near they knelt down by a manger. I can see now. I see nothing but a baby. Why all the fuss?

The shepherds came out yelling “Glory to God. He has given us a Son”. And the Angels are singing ” Glory to God in the highest,” over and over again. Something big must have happened. All this is real, not a program. One of the shepherds came near to me. I asked him what was going on.” Didn’t you know?” he said

We have been waiting so long and now He is here. Glory to God!”

Yes, I had heard that, but really, I didn’t think it would happen. I guess that is the Son of God. I will watch Him, that’s what I’ll do. He played with the other kids, and even scrubbed his knees. I didn’t see anything different from all the other kids.

You saw Him later. He was walking all over with some of his friends. People were calling Him names. He even healed a man on the Sabboth Day. He he healed many people. He does seem to be a little different at that.Oh oh, there seems to be some kind of commotion in that park.Soldiers are heading over there. They arrested Him. And for what? I don’t think he has done anything wrong! They took Him in and tortured Him. And for what? And He still didn’t say anything. When they got through with that, they took Him out to Mount Calvary and crucified Him. He died and someone buried Him. I felt awfully sorry for Him.

He was in the grave three days but on the third day He came out of the grave! How do I feel about Him Now? He went into Heaven to be with His Father, God.

He loved us. In the first place, it was love that God sent His only Son into the world as a baby. He had to do something about the sinful living that was going on. It was love that sent Jesus to the cross. He died for all of our sins. And He still loves us. We can talk to him all the time. He takes care of us. But do we love Him, real good? That is a question we all have to answer.
