There is a trust that knows. You won’t worry about things that happened in the past or will happen in the future. That doesn’t mean nothing will happen to you These things happen to everyone. You know deep in your heart that God is in charge, not only in your life , but in all things around you.

Do you have that kind of trust? Well, I know that when you sit down on a chair, you do trust that the chair is strong enough to hold you. You do have trust. All you have to do is trust in God. After all, He made everything you see around you, He will take care of you! But He expects you to believe in Him and his son, Jesus. They love you deeply.

Thomas Manton put it this way: “If a man would lead a happy life, let him seek a sure object for his trust, and he shall be safe.”

Nothing in this world is certain, but if you trust in God you will never be disappointed. When something happens, like a fire in your home, a sickness in your family, You lost your job or you simply are upset over something, God will see you through. Every obstacle is an opportunity for God to show you that he is there.

I have lost two husbands and two little children and many other things that God has taken me through. Yes, I was sad but when I looked back I knew God had been with me all the time and He showed me that I could go on in life, He would be with me always.

Are you tired of the Christmas rush of shopping, extra doings at church, our country seems to be going down the hill faster than a skier, and we wanted the election to be over, but some folks are fighting that too, aren’t you tired of it all?

We need peace in the midst of the storm, to quote a hymn we often sing, but do we ask for it?  it’s simple really. There are many places in the Bible like Mathew 11: 29 (nkjv) Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. I like the version of that verse in The Message. It goes like this: Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life.I’ll show you how to take a real rest,

So, if you tell Jesus and really follow Him you will find the rest from all of the problems you have. It’s like having a good yoke harnessed to the power of the oxen, If we turn our life over to God, we can use His power to give us the rest we need. The problems won’t go away, but You’ve taken God’s yoke upon you, and you will find rest. If God can make the beautiful Northwest, certainly He can handle your problems. I have found that out! All I have to do is look out at the tall fir trees, the green grass and the beauty of the sky whether it’s grey or blue.

If you are tired of everything going on around you, just take Jesus at his word. He will give you rest and that will change your life.
