Perhaps I ‘d better explain. I had two falls, both of which were un-avoidableI I had been painting a picture of a barn when my easel fell on my back. I went to the hospital and was told I had broken my left hip. I went into surgery and stayed at the hospital to a week then I went to an orthopedic place where I learned to walk a little, and even made a small painting during the month I stayed there and before I was told I could go home, All of my children were sure it was too early. My right foot dragged when I tried to walk and I felt there was something wrong with my right side.
I was home for two whole days before I fell again. The doctor told me I had broken my right hip! (ouch) It was the same old thing, surgery and a week to recover from that. Off I went to the orthopedic place to (I hope) learn how to walk. but before I got settled in, someone pulled me and my bed down one hall and up another and finally put me in another room. two days later, I got the news that I was isolated for 10 days because I now had Covid! What more could an old lady take? Well anyhow it took another month before I could go home!
I am now home and still hope I will be able to improve my walking. I have been told it will take another two or three months! But God and people have seen me through. I owe everything to my son, Ron, and my daughters, JoAnne and Bobbe. The nurses and their assistants are wonderful! Of course the doctors are great too! But I believe that God has put something big in those nurses and their assistants. How they can do all they have to do and still have a smile on their faces is more than I can understand! I thought a young man was an angel all the time I was there. Josh did so much more for me than he had to, and I am forever grateful to him.
I’m glad it’s over, but happy with all I’ve learned. folks like my children and the doctors, nurses and their assistants are all like God made us to be, I will try to be more like them in the days I have left.
Good to have you back!
