Joshua was one of ten men Moses sent in to the promised land. Eight of them returned saying the land was filled with giants and other dangerous men, but the other two brought back some of the fruit and said ” That is a wonderful land.” Joshua was one of those men. Joshua was a worthy successor to Moses and all the israelites. He worked several years always for the Israelites and was about eighty years old when this miracle happened.
Joshua was walking alone the road leading to Jericho and saw a man in front of him. He had a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies?” Neither,” he replied, “but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” (NIV)
So he gave the order and the priests carrying trumpets followed the army of the Lord. They were followed by most of the Israelites,including women and children. Joshua asked that the Arc of the Lord should go first before the Israelites. Soon, they were ready to go. Can you imagine what they were going to do next? I would surely wonder. But Joshua then spoke to the people telling them they were going to march around the wicked city of Jericho seven times. The priests would be playing the trumpets but the people should just march and not even talk or do anything else until after they had completed their seventh march.Then they should shout as loud as they could. Well, that sort of told them but I’m sure they were still confused. When they shouted the walls of the city fell down and everyone went in and took that wicked city of Jericho.
Well, we have a wicked group of people coming very close to taking over America, changing the way we have always lived. The men and women who are fighting this movement with all their hearts need everyone to help them. Many Americans want us to keep our Constitution and Bill of rights which gives us freedom, We want to keep our rights as far as our religion is concerned. Many have stood up with those wonderful folks. But what about God? He made that miracle. The man who met Joshua on the road and the fact they were told the army of the Lord should march first will tell you that. We are so geared up thinking the stories in the Old Testament is just that, stories. But every word in the Bible is true and so this story is also true. Maybe we should pray that God will do something to save our America. It isn’t too late.
