I know you have been wondering what’s going to happen to our world. I surely have. But I heard the television anchors saying, ” I miss you, Mom” and “Happy Mother’s Day, Mom” all weekend. Others have told us the word Mother is now Birthing person! There is a funny word for boy or girl, man or woman and many more. The people who made up the words don’t seem to know real Americans won’t change just because they say so. We will still have a Mother’s Day, Father’s day, Memorial Day, Easter and Christmas no matter what they say. So, don’t worry if some few will use those funny words, Americans will continue being Americans.

We will continue celebrating our holiday’s too. I certainly celebrated Mother’s Day! It started on Friday when my Daughter and Son- in- law’s car drove into our driveway. I had been wishing I could get outside and clean up the area around the pond. I love to sit out there under the trees, and the pond was now full of leaves. I knew I couldn’t do the work, ! but isn’t it funny when you are sitting comfortably in your chair, You think you could do anything! Anyhow they brought their shop Vacumn and went to work. Things started to look better already. They said they would be back Sunday with some more rocks for the pool. We had supper and watched the Blazer Basketball game together before they left to go home.

On Saturday morning, I woke up and wanted to look at my pond area through the window. I saw a guy out in the area and I got scared. “Someone is in my fenced area”, I thought. I went as quickly as I could to tell my son who lives with me. He was surprised too, so he went carefully out there and found that that “the guy” was his sister and my grand daughter. She was there to clean up the pond area. She surely did that, and then placed two buckets of flowers beside the pond. On Sunday my son made me a special breakfast and gave me a crazy, but wonderful card and told me my gift was out by the pond. It was a bird feeder! and a nice one at that. And my other son, who lives in New Mexico called and said a gift will be coming soon. I’m proud of my kids and don’t think of myself as a Birthing Person!

They were all here on Sunday, including one of the grandchildren. We all enjoyed the pond area together. I’ve never had a more enjoyable Mother’s Day.I know you mothers had a special Mother’s Day too which says it all. We are Americans and will honor our holidays and everyday as we wish, not as some people say we should. So, it’s gonna be okay!

I was trying to write my blog and I thought God being in control was going to be my title. I wrote and ripped it up so many times. It just wouldn’t gel. Suddenly a voice seemed to pop onto my head. Was it God or was it my own mind figuring things out? Here is how it went: “Why do you think you can influence any reader about God taking control of our country when you don’t know how in the world things are going to go back to normal?” I had to admit I sure didn’t know, but I did know God must be the answer.

Genesis 1 begins like this: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth, but the earth was formless and empty. God saw that light was good so He said ” let there be light, and He separated day from night.” The entire earth was covered with water, so He separated the waters from the land. That caused our beautiful oceans and the lakes and rivers we do enjoy. and we had plenty of land to grow our food, and trees to enjoy and use for buildings. This was all done by God saying it. He did the same with things to grow, and animals to roam the earth. He ordered fish to live in our streams, lakes and oceans. It all was so beautiful and ready, for what?

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea, and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth.” And he did! He made man and woman and He blessed them. I don’t imagine He likes everything we have done either to the earth itself, or to man and woman. It’s crazy though, He still loves us, all of us.

Yet we go on thinking that big tech is so powerful, How can we win over that? Or, those people have been planning this for years. We can’t win. Oh yes we can. We have the all powerful, all loving Father God and his Son, Jesus, and the holy Spirit on our side. So, let us lean on them. They will carry us through so that we can have an America with freedom and justice for all.

Is God in control? Yes, He loves our earth and its people. He is in control. What we need to do is trust Him and keep praying for our country. Will you do that?
