I’m confused. Doesn’t it mean something someone has done is against the law? I know if I do something like parking in a wrong place, or telling a lie in court, I will either pay a fine or go to jail. That doesn’t seem to be true any more. Or, maybe it still is true for someone like me but it isn’t true for either the rich and famous, or a person who enters America ill-legally, Haven’t we gotten off on the wrong track somewhere?
My grandparents came from Norway in the late 1800’s. They came through Ellis Island, a legal entrance and after they had completed what they had to complete, they were proud Americans. We still have legal border entrances like that, but we don’t hear much about them. Why is that?
Today we hear a lot about people entering our country ill-legally, or really sneaking here. They seem to be allowed to stay, but even to commit crimes here! Does that seem right to you? Drug sellers and murderers have been known to get off easy and have not even been deported!
Those of us who call America ours should not put up with such a thing. Soon, America will be over-run with murderers and drug sellers! We must remember that even though some of the folks who come here are good folks. But they are committing a crime, even though they maybe don’t know it. The only way they have the chance to say, “We are proud Americans” is to go through our legal entrances.
What shall we do about it? The right way is to pray first and then vote for those people who call ill-legality a crime. The government should somehow keep the illegal people out and let the good folks in the legal way. I don’t know….maybe we, the people, should tell the government to end this continuous talk about immigration and do something about it.
